TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – Kapitra Ampera called KH Abdurrahman Wahid or Gus Dur as a reformer. This was conveyed when he recalled the figure of the 4th president in the Bulan Gus Dur (Month of Gus Dur) or known as Haul Gus Dur IX (Haul Gus Dur the 9th).
According to the PDI Perjuangan politician, Gus Dur was a person close to the community. He was a leader who is able to accommodate all the feelings and aspirations that exist in society.
"He (Gus Dur) is close to all people. Eat, sleep, dream with people," Kapitra said when contacted by TIMES Indonesia, on Monday night (12/17/2018).
Kapitra said, Gus Dur who always prioritized the minority was a person who did not turn off the world in his heart and mind. "So when the world has escaped, he doesn't feel any pain," he said.
In politics, Gus Dur, who also served as General Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama, was considered a constructive and a strict person. For Kapitra, Gus Dur opened a democracy guide and provided freedom of expression.
"He provides equality, equality in all grades of people," said Kapitra Ampera, welcoming Bulan Gus Dur this year. (*)
