Jokowi Checks the Price of Basic Necessities in Lamongan, East Java
TIMESINDONESIA, LAMONGAN – Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said the price of basic necessities in East Java is very stable. This is conveyed after checking the prices of basic commodities at Sidoharjo Market, Lamongan, Monday (11/19/2018).
When visiting Sidoharjo Traditional Market, the president bought a number of basic necessities including rice, cecek (cow’s skin), vegetables, fruits, and chili.
"We check the price, which price is dropped when I was seeing to the Bogor market, chili was over Rp. 30.000, here I have already purchased Rp.17.000," Jokowi said.
The 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia also mentioned that he would continue to maintain the balance of basic prices in Indonesia.
"Actually, don't be too high and too low. If it is low the farmers who are pity, if it is too high the community who are pity, this balance that we must guard," he said.
Jokowi's effort to maintain the basic price balance is to maintain supply and demand in a stable good position.
"So the price does not rise too much and does not fall," he said.
In addition, according to Jokowi, East Java inflation of 1.78 also shows that prices of basic commodities are currently stable.
"If someone says that the price rises please checked to the market, the inflation rate in East Java is 1.78, this price stability can be maintained in East Java," he said.
Nationally, Jokowi added, inflation is also below 3.5, it means that the price of goods including the price of basic necessities is under control. "God willing, inflation is below 3.5 until the end of the year," said Jokowi. (*)
