TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – Lalu Muhammad Zohri, IAAF World U20 gold medalist Champion, arrived in Indonesia at 11:10 pm at Terminal 3 Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten, Tuesday (17/07/2018). His arrival was welcomed by Menpora RI The Minister of Youth and Sports RI Imam Nahrawi.
The gold medalist of IAAF World U20 Championship in Tampere, Finland arrived in Indonesia using Garuda Indonesia airline. Then, the jasmine flower was pinned by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Imam Nahrowi to Zohri.
"Thanks to PASI, we hope Zohri remains consistent to practice because the Asian Games are close, I hope Zohri remains inferior," said Menpora RI.
Then Muhammad Zohri is the first Indonesian athlete successfully become world champion run 100 meters for the U-20 category. The 18-years old athlete is on the track eight and able to defeat other state athletes who have been the champion.
He is one of the athletes prepared for the 2018 Asian Games who is able to record a time of 10.18 seconds. It also beats two sprinter from the United States, Anthony Schwartz and Eric Harrison, who each posted a gain of 10.22 seconds.
The time recorded by athlete from North of Lombok, East Nusa Tenggara is only slightly adrift with the record time of former Indonesian sprinter, Suryo Agung Wibowo who recorded only 10.17 seconds like inscribed at the SEA Games 2009 in Laos.
On these achievements, Lalu Muhammad Zohri received many appreciations including from President Joko Widodo. Bonus also continues to flow on this orphaned athlete. The Minister of Youth and Sports RI (Menpora RI), Imam Nahrawi also contributed Rp 250 million bonus, in addition to repaire his house in North of Lombok. (*)
