TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTATangerang-Merak toll road operator estimates that the peak of reverse flow of Lebaran 2018 that will cross the toll road is happening on Saturday and Sunday this week.

Head of Legal and Public Relations Division at PT Marga Mandalasakti, Indah Permanasari said the buildup of vehicles in Tangerang-Merak Toll Road does not only come from travelers from Sumatra, but also it is dominated by tourists coming back from tourism spots such as Anyer and Tanjung Lesung .

"The peak of the reverse flow is predicted happening on this Saturday and Sunday. We estimate the peak of the reverse flow followed by the crossing at Merak Harbour which occurred on 23 and 24 June, "said Indah through a written message received by TIMES INDONESIA (Timesindonesia.co.id) on Thursday (21/6/2018).

According to her, the increase in reverse flow this year will increase about 18 percent or 165,475 vehicles compared with normal days.

"Compared with Lebaran in 2017 last year, the prediction of increasing is 5.67 percent for the same period," she said.

Indah added, the tourists vehicles coming from Anyer Beach, Tanjung Lesung and Carita reached 51,199 vehicles.

In order to face the reverse flow, her institution claimed to have anticipated various things, one of which is by opening 89 substations at 10 toll gates consisting of 7 two-way substations and 5 tandem substations.

"The compositions are there are 23 substations consisting of 12 enter substations, 9 outgoing substations, and 2 substations ramp," she said.

In addition, in order to avoid long lines, her institution also limits the heavy vehicles that pass through the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road.

"Car goods are also limited on Friday (22/6) at 00.00 pm until Sunday (24/6) at 12:00 pm," she said.

On the occasion, she also reminded that the Toll Road only applies the system of non-cash transactions or must use electronic toll cards.

Therefore, she suggested that the users of Tangerang-Merak toll road to prepare the sufficiency of the balance in the card before passing through the toll booth at the peak of the reverse flow of Lebaran 2018. (*)
