TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – Ur Watch app that built by Institut Teknologi Nasional (ITN) Malang will soon be patented in the Central of Intellectual Property Rights, Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham).
"Right now we are in the state of administration archiving on campus. We will be helped also by Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM) ITN Malang for the registration," said the creator of Ur Watch, Muhammad Reza, ST MURP.
Reza, who is one lecturer of Urban and Regional Planning ITN Malang, targets the patent for his app can be obtained before Lebaran later this year.
"Some of the features in this app is not yet explained to the Kemenkumham," said Reza, who also add that this app is the first of its kind in Indonesia.
ITN Malang pursue the license for Ur Watch so the app can be added to Google Play Store. "Right now it cannot be downloaded on Play Store because we don't have the patent yet," Reza add.
To further enhance the app, he says that ITN Malang is now cooperating with Universitas Podomoro. In the future, ITN Malang will try to complete this breakthrough app through coordination with the Ministry of Land and Spatial Planning (Kementerian ATR) or Head of National Land Authority (BPN).
The target of this coordination is getting spatial data of all region in Indonesia. If this target achieved, there will be total of 513 city and regency in Indonesia that can be watched with this app.
"Before Lebaran, we will be meet with Kementerian ATR/BPN to discuss this matter," Reza concluded. (*)
