Biden and Bali on G20 Indonesia: I Don't Think I'm Going Home

TIMESINDONESIA, BALI – Biden said to Jokowi that he was feeling so comfortable during his presence in G20 Indonesia in Nusa Dua, Bali. The two met in a more relax atmosphere before the summit started on Monday (14/11/2022).

"Well, as I told you, Mr. President, I don’t think I’m going home. You had me staying on the beach.  I — I don’t know,"  Biden said as written by the White House on Wednesday (16/11/2022). 

During their meeting the President of United States also said that he pleased to meet Jokowi for the second time after their first meeting at the White House. For Your information, Jokowi had visited Biden in US earlier in May 2022.  

Biden also stated his amazement towards the country, the beautiful culture, and hospitality that had been given since he put his first step in Bali. He also praised Jokowi for his successful in holding such a huge international summit like G20.

"And I want to thank you for your hospitality and your support of this G20.  You’ve done a wonderful job thus far," he added.   

He also said that Indonesia is a vibrant and critical, critical partner.  As we all know Indonesia and US are two largest democratic countries in the world. Both has been agree to work together to preserve the rule-based system and international order, and to uphold human rights.

Biden also spilled some secret cooperation that they have done so far. According to him, US has invest around $700 million through Millenium Challenge Corporation to support the development of high-quality transportation and infrastructure in Indonesia.

US and Indonesia has also worked together during the pandemic through historic pandemic fund. And related to the G20 Indonesia Biden also said that his country will support Indonesia for the clean energy transition program they had. 

Biden's reaction about Bali and doesn't want to leave the country has triggered some positive response from those netizen or the way Indonesian called those people who love to write their comment in the internet.

Pesona Indonesia at their Instagram account @pesona.indonesia said that they were pleased to hear about it. "Does he bring enough clothes if he wanted to extend his stay? If you do, we would be very pleased to have you Mr. President," they wrote on their Instagram.

In addition, this account also suggest Biden to check the local products if he doesn't have enough outfit to go after G20 Indonesia. "If you don't have much spare clothes, Bali has lots of local cool stuff," they ended. (*)
